The Butte Valley Unified School District serves the rural communities of Dorris, Macdoel, Mt. Hebron, and Tennant. Butte Valley is located just three miles south of the California-Oregon border with inspiring views of Mt. Shasta and the Siskiyou mountain range. Nearby Lava Beds National Monument, Lower Klamath Lake Wildlife Refuge, and National Grasslands provide a wealth of outdoor opportunities. Sightings of eagles, sandhill cranes, and pronghorn antelope are common.
